Essay 4 Assignment: Persuasive Argumentation
Write a 3-4 page (at least one line of text on the 4th page) web
essay that takes a stand on a local issue. This essay should incorporate the writing techniques that we have
focused on this term (i.e. example, definition, comparison and contrast, cause and effect, and problem/solution) and the persuasive techniques that have talked about this week (i.e. inductive and deductive reasoning, audience address, and opposing viewpoints) in order to argue your case effectively. Make sure that you pick a narrow enough issue that you can thoroughly discuss the important aspects in a very specific manner. You must use at least
two outside sources and have a works cited page at the end of your essay. You
must also have at least three images, and I highly recommend that your essay
include more than one web page.
Rough Draft due (peer review): Thursday, August 8th (don't forget to print out and bring the
Peer
Review Questions to class)
Final Draft due: Friday, August 9th via email 3 p.m.
