Essay 4: Final Paper
Write a 4-5 page paper that examines a text of your choice from a theoretical perspective of your choice. You may write on any text that we have read in class that you HAVE NOT already written on. You may also choose an outside text, but you must clear that with me before you start working on it. Since I am not assigning you a particular theory to use for this essay, your thesis must make it very clear what theory you have chosen. You must use TWO secondary sources (i.e. academic articles) to back up your argument. Although you may use the work we have done in class as a starting point, DO NOT simply regurgitate class discussion of your text.
Please remember that you are required to do a works cited page for this paper. The works cited page must be in MLA format. Consult The Writer's Reference for specific directions on how a MLA works cited page should look.
Rough Draft Due: Thursday, November 29th (last day of class) (don't forget to print out and bring the Peer Review Questions to class and put one copy in my mailbox by 1 p.m.)
Final Draft Due: Tuesday, December 4th by 4pm in my mailbox (Turlington 4301)
If you want to meet with me, please do so as soon as possible because I will not meet with anyone the day before an essay is due.
