Write a 2-3 page essay that examines some aspect of gender identity (femininities and/or masculinities) in the literary works that we have read since the last essay. Be aware that you must make some sort of argument regarding how gender identity effects larger concerns within the work (theme etc.).  You MUST use at least one quotation from one of the secondary works (the academic articles) in your essay. This quotation should be used to back up your own argument and not just summarize what that particular scholar has done in her article. Although you may use the work we have done in class as a starting point, DO NOT simply regurgitate class discussion of your text.

Rough Draft Due: Tuesday, October 30th (don't forget to print out and bring the Peer Review Questions to class and put one copy in my mailbox by 1 p.m.) 

Final Draft Due: Thursday, November 1st

If you want to meet with me, please do so as soon as possible because I will not meet with anyone the day before an essay is due.
