Essay 2: Deconstructive Criticism
Write a 2-3 page essay that either deconstructs a unity that the author has created in the text or argues that the author deconstructs a unity through the text. I will be looking for your ability to go beyond the surface meaning of the text and explore the possible multiple meanings available in a text. Although you may use the work we have done in class as a starting point, DO NOT simply regurgitate class discussion of your text.
Rough Draft Due: Tuesday, October 9th (don't forget to print out and bring the Peer Review Questions to class and put one copy in my mailbox by 1 p.m.)
Final Draft Due: Thursday, October 11th
If you want to meet with me, please do so as soon as possible because I will not meet with anyone the day before an essay is due.
